Celebrating 20 Years of Partnership and Growth

By Carla Bettens, Vice President, Marketing & Communications

As we stand on the threshold of our 20th anniversary at Member Driven Technologies (MDT), I find myself reflecting on the incredible journey we’ve taken alongside our esteemed credit union owners. From our inception two decades ago, we’ve created a cooperative, connective relationship that sets us apart as a Fintech service partner.

A Journey of Collaboration

Our journey began with a vision to serve credit unions not as mere clients but as partners in growth. Throughout these 20 years, we’ve realized that MDT doesn’t just offer services — we’ve become an extension of the credit unions we serve. They, in turn, have become intertwined and are integral to MDT. This mutual relationship, built on trust and shared values, is the cornerstone of our success.

The last two decades are also a testament to the adaptability and evolution deeply ingrained in MDT’s DNA. We began as experts in Symitar core processing and host the core systems for 94 credit unions today. But our scope has grown much further, encompassing an array of new services, like Fintech services, consulting, and more digital solutions.

While the financial services landscape has seen unparalleled change, underscored by digital transformation and evolving consumer expectations, our commitment to client satisfaction continues. Staying ahead of industry trends and being attuned to client needs has led us to integrate innovative services like Project Management Consulting into our portfolio, enhancing the value we provide to our partners. Other services, such as vendor integration services, remain central to success.

Insights From Our CEOs

MDT’s transformation hasn’t happened alone. Reflecting on our journey, consider these insights from our valued credit union clients:

“MDT goes beyond mere partnership; their relationship integrates seamlessly as a vital extension of our business. Their scope encompasses not only the implementation of products they offer but also those procured from external sources.”

~ Diane Abbonizio, President/CEO, United Bay Community Credit Union

“The MDT Brand truly stands out, exemplifying an unmatched commitment to finding solutions. Their lineup of business partner products boasts stability and a proactive approach to communication, stringent compliance, and paramount security. This translates to us being able to provide our members with an unparalleled level of service.”

~ Karen Madry, President/CEO, Afena Federal Credit Union

“Credit Unions and MDT are the best-kept secrets in my book. I proudly count myself among their biggest fans, thanks to exceptional service, the unwavering support from their dedicated teams, and the valuable products they bring to the table through trusted business partnerships. Whenever I reach out to MDT, their responsiveness is consistently impressive. I have come to rely on their reliability and availability, knowing exactly the level of service I can expect and appreciating their commitment to fairness.”

Redefining Our Service Journey

Amidst anniversary celebrations, our focus on client satisfaction and recognition persists. Significant events, including gatherings of dedicated team members, founding board members, and credit unions, have marked our 20th-year festivities.

This milestone has also given us a chance to reflect internally. We’re not just an extension of products and services; we’re building bridges of collaboration that empower credit unions to thrive in an ever-changing financial landscape — and we’re immensely proud of our journey.

We’ve transformed from a Symitar-focused company to a dynamic service provider and are deeply woven into the fabric of our credit union partners. Our commitment to continuous evolution, deepening relationships, and providing unconditional support has been foundational to success.

To All Our Credit Unions:

Thank you for being an integral part of our story. Here’s to the next 20 years of growth, innovation, and partnership!
