“C” is for Community: Credit Unions Give Back

Credit unions play a vital role in the strength and development of their communities. Whether volunteering time, investing money into the local economy or creating awareness, credit unions’ support and efforts are making a difference every day. While navigating a fast-paced work environment and combating daily challenges, credit unions are still dedicated to supporting their communities. MDT would like to highlight a few events from this year and celebrate the impact of these credit unions.

PrimeTrust FCU – Soup Crawl

PrimeTrust raised money and awareness during the annual Soup Crawl to support Second Harvest Food Bank of East Central Indiana and The Big Idea initiative. There are over 18,000 children in East Central Indiana who don’t have reliable, nutritious meals, along with other barriers to success caused by poverty. The Big Idea initiative unites schools, families and providers to distribute resources, build connections and create opportunities for children to chart a path to long-term stability.

Family Financial Credit Union – The Hope Project

Family Financial raised money and awareness for The Hope Project. Throughout the year they hosted multiple events including an annual charity golf outing, a 5K Fun Run & Walk and a community bake sale. Their efforts support The Hope Project’s work to end suffering from sex trafficking. The non-profit organization’s mission is to support the healing of girls and women who have survived sex trafficking and prevent further cases through mentoring and education.

West Virginia Central Credit Union – Stuff the Bus!

WV Central believes that investing in education is one of the most important and impactful things they can do for their community. Their annual Stuff the Bus campaign was a tremendous success. They proudly distributed funds to over 680 regional teachers, helping to support their classrooms and make a positive impact on countless students throughout the community.

We’re proud to partner with our credit unions and witness their dedication to “The People helping People” philosophy.
